For over 15 years, I’ve been working on a project to shed light on the realities of this profession—not just from a technical standpoint, but from the human side as well.
Fourteen years ago, I conducted a similar survey, gathering valuable insights from dispatchers about their work, relationships, pay, and overall well-being. Unfortunately, due to life’s many twists and turns, I wasn’t able to follow through and finish analyzing and sharing those results. But that changes now.
With the experience and perspective I’ve gained over the years, I’m revisiting this project with a renewed focus—this time, ensuring that the data is collected, analyzed, and shared back with the community. This survey is completely anonymous and designed to capture the full picture of what it means to be a 911 dispatcher today.
